Keep on Learning!

Expanding one's skills and knowledge is always a great idea. The world changes faster than ever and keeping up can be so overwhelming that some people simply give up. However, I am not one of those people!

Currently I find myself with free time. At first like many who have been on the career treadmill for decade I took some time to relax and goof off, but you can only watch so many movies or read so many novels before you notice that your mind is turning to mush.

So what to do?

I could try Llearning a foreign language. That has always been a desire. Currently I am capable of ordering a beverage, asking for the check and inquiring what time it is or asking the location of the bathroom. Beyond that, I am lost. As a visual learner, auditory is not my thing. But learning visual computer languages such as HTML 5, CSS, Java, etc, is right up my alley and it adds to my skill set as a designer!

A great site that aggregates avaiable online courses and ranks them based upon cost, skill level and availability is Slide Rule. Some courses provide certificates. I am very interested in learning and applying UX Design, and have found a number of courses through Slide Rule.
